I have uploaded screen caps for the deleted scenes (all of them from both movies) and they are available in the new, revamped Movie section.

The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement DVD will be released in the UK on February 21, 2005. Also on that day a box set will be released, containing the first and second films. Cover art for these releases will be added to the movie posters page. The extras for the PD2 DVD will be the same as the extras on the US DVD.

The movie posters page has been updated. International movie posters and merchandise has been added. I also have saved the Japanese language trailer and the German language trailers. Those will be uploaded soon.

Ahhhh....the site has now been completely moved! As you will notice, the blog is still hosted at Tripod. This may change, it may not...I am not sure.

I have done some slight updates to the text version of the site so that it is consistent with the graphic heavy version of the site. Once I create a new layout, the need for a 'text only' version of the site may no longer exist. The next layout won't have such a huge, long-loading image map. I also understand that the top frame is too large, and make the user scroll up and down too much. That will be changed.

Everything on the site works, so please let me know (webmaster@pigeonhole-this.com) if something is missing or broken.

PD2 Deleted Scenes Screen caps!

I have begun uploading screen caps for some of the deleted scenes from the DVD. Here are three sets:

The Queen & Maurice
This one begins with Queen Clarisse and her poodle Maurice in the throne room. It is just after the Parliament session where Queen Clarisse is informed by Parliament that a princess must marry before ascending the throne. During this session Mia had been in the secret tunnels, listening to the members of Parliament and Queen Clarisse discuss this archaic law. The Queen begins to tell Mia what happened, but Mia interrupts her and tells her that she found these secret tunnels leading to a small room adjacent to the Parliament chambers, and that she heard everything. It is a rather brief scene.

Pear Picking
If you have watched the first movie as I have done, over and over again, you will notice the pears that Mia examines when she is in the consulate for the first time. Well, Genovia is famous for having distinctive pears. This scene involves a ceremony in which Princess Mia picks the first newly grown pear from the oldest pear tree in Genovia. Viscount Mabrey, the villain of the movie, plans to humiliate Mia during this ceremony, so he has someone trip the ladder Mia is standing on. She is stranded on a branch as the ladder falls to the ground, and of course, the tree branch breaks, and she falls...all in front of the press!

Welcome to Parliament
Princess Mia attends a session of Parliament by herself. Meanwhile, Charlotte and the Queen access the small, adjacent room by using the secret tunnels so they can watch Mia sitting in Parliament. Baron and Baroness Von Troken are asking Parliament for a loan to fund a new luxury hotel and spa. Princess Mia suggests using the hotel as an orphanage instead. Viscount Mabrey uses this opportunity to show that Mia is unprepared for the role as Queen, and basically mocks her for being completely unprepared and not thinking the idea through. The Queen, who is listening in the secret room, tells Charlotte that Mia is no match for him, and that she cannot just leave Mia by herself.

There are several more deleted scenes, but I will upload pictures of those later.

The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement is out on DVD today. Features include deleted scenes, bloopers, a documentary on the music from the film, a personality quiz, "The PD2 Makeover", the video for Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" and commentary by the director and Julie Andrews. It comes out in two formats - fullscreen and widescreen. It also retails for $30.
